Celebrities aren't the only ones around dating younger men. Yea, you have couples like Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, but studies have shown that more than one-third of the 50,000 women over the age of 30 that were surveyed in 2007 showed more interest in men at least 5 years younger than they, and about 34% of the 3,500 women between 40 and 69 dated men at least 10 years younger than themselves.
So, although it's the new norm of older women and younger men versus the opposite, what's the deal with it? Woman are more powerful than they have ever been before with career and lifestyles of their own. Women no longer depend on a man, and they can establish playmates, so to speak.
Many may think that these relationships can't and won't last, but there are many relationships with older women and younger men that succeed. Age really isn't as big of a concern, as the media says. What is the main determining factor in a relationship with an age difference are the two individuals in the relationship.
When dealing with younger teenagers, a few years may cause complications with communication, experience , and goals, but as people age, how old a person is doesn't really matter as long as both people are on the same page in the book.
As for why do women date men who are younger for them... Well, that's like asking a man why he prefers women younger... Ok, well not really, but in my book, what's it matter? As long as we are all over proper age limits, there shouldn't be a problem, so if your 50 year old mother wants to date a man who is your age, by all means, just let her do it.
