Tips for Waxing Hair Removal

Waxing your hair can be a burden, but if you know the right tips you can minimize pain and you can minimize the headache. The following tips should help you get started waxing your leg hair, bikini line, chest, stomach, back, and any other body location that you may need to wax.


• Make sure you have grown out all stubble from previous hair removal. It's best that the hair be at least a quarter of an inch.
* Determine the best style of wax or sugar product for your hair type. Pre-coated wax stripes are best for a quick and easy hair removal, especially great for beginners. Sugar waxes are great for washable, mess-free hair removal, especially for people with sensitive skin or light hair growth.
* Wax regularly for best results, every 2-6 weeks.
* Minimize the pain caused by waxing by taking an aspirin or ibuprofen a half an hour before-hand; keep the skin tight throughout the treatment; and apply a soothing ointment after waxing.
* Apply the wax or strips on small sections to prevent a mess.
* If the area is very sensitive, you can numb the area first with a bikini analgesic crème or gel or an ice cube.
* If you have short, coarse hair, try a heatable wax.
* Apply the wax in the direction of hair growth, but remove in the opposite direction.

If you prefer to go to a salon to get waxed, make sure that you get references if you've never used a salon before.
* Make sure that the salon specializes waxing (don't go to a nail salon that happens to do waxing to get your bikini wax).
* The night before, make sure that you exfoliate your skin to rid it of any debris, which will help ensure that all the hair is removed.
* Apply a pre-wax oil after cleaning the skin.
