Boredom Shopping, Have You Heard of It?
March 4th 2009 21:41
I've never been a big shopper, but I've found that when I'm bored I will jump online and just start looking around. The next thing I know I have hundreds of dollars in my shopping cart, and I have to make the decision to remove a few things or just pay it in full, as is.
For the past few weeks, I've found myself shopping a lot. I have purchased nearly a new wardrobe of shirts. I mean, I bought 13 more work/casual shirts today. Plus the 20-ish that I purchased a few weeks ago. If I had more to do at work, I think I'd spend less, but all I can say is, at least I have a job that I can afford to spend.
I mean, I thought it was just me, but my dad does the same thing, except he purchases guns, knifes, watches, etc. You know, more manly things.
I used to think that I wasn't a girly girl because I hated shopping, and then I was introduced to the world wide web of shopping. Now, I don't have a need to go to the mall, when the internet has more stores and sellers that my local malls and stores have. The only problem is returns. Most of the time, I just send them back, but what sucks is when you have to pay shipping to return or when they credit all but $5.99 because they paid shipping.
My favorite is shopping at online stores where I have the physical store in my area. This way I don't have to ship my return, but can just drive to the store and have the money credited to my credit card.
Why is it that women shop so much? I never understood it. And I nearly guarantee that when I receive my clothes within next week or so in the mail, I'll probably start shopping again once I figure out what fits and what doesn't.
I just wish that I could buy pants on the internet. Ha. I seem to have bad luck buying pants and shoes online, which may actually be a good thing... Except I now have tons of tops, and I'm in need of bottoms. Hmm.. Maybe that will be my next purchases. I do need new jeans. Ha
