Tips for Waxing Hair Removal

July 4th 2009 15:41
Waxing your hair can be a burden, but if you know the right tips you can minimize pain and you can minimize the headache. The following tips should help you get started waxing your leg hair, bikini line, chest, stomach, back, and any other body location that you may need to wax.

• Make sure you have grown out all stubble from previous hair removal. It's best that the hair be at least a quarter of an inch.
* Determine the best style of wax or sugar product for your hair type. Pre-coated wax stripes are best for a quick and easy hair removal, especially great for beginners. Sugar waxes are great for washable, mess-free hair removal, especially for people with sensitive skin or light hair growth.
* Wax regularly for best results, every 2-6 weeks.
* Minimize the pain caused by waxing by taking an aspirin or ibuprofen a half an hour before-hand; keep the skin tight throughout the treatment; and apply a soothing ointment after waxing.
* Apply the wax or strips on small sections to prevent a mess.
* If the area is very sensitive, you can numb the area first with a bikini analgesic crème or gel or an ice cube.
* If you have short, coarse hair, try a heatable wax.
* Apply the wax in the direction of hair growth, but remove in the opposite direction.

If you prefer to go to a salon to get waxed, make sure that you get references if you've never used a salon before.
* Make sure that the salon specializes waxing (don't go to a nail salon that happens to do waxing to get your bikini wax).
* The night before, make sure that you exfoliate your skin to rid it of any debris, which will help ensure that all the hair is removed.
* Apply a pre-wax oil after cleaning the skin.

Best Wax for Hair Removal

July 2nd 2009 00:15
Waxing may not be as pleasant as shaving, nor is it as convenient, but it is the most long-lasting hair removal technique. If you want to, I'd highly suggest going to a professional for your first few treatments, as it's just not going to be as easy as you may think. There is pain associated with waxing, but over time you do get used to it.

When waxing, the warm wax penetrates into the hair follicle, which allows the hair to be pulled by the root. The area will be hair-free for 3-6 weeks, which is wonderful, but you can't wax again until the hair is 1/2 inch.

But, even though it seems waxing is more complicated than plain old shaving, you'll find that a long-term span of waxing will make the hair thinner over time. So, it's all up to you if you're up to you if you want to do it at home or if you want to wax with a specialist.

Personally, like I said, it may be better to go to a specialist the first few times, but if you opt to save some money and wax at home, you'll want to make sure that you purchase the right wax so that you minimize any skin reactions.

* Veet Ready to Use Strips- Adheres great to skin and will successfully wax hair as short as 2mm, which means you don't have to waite till your hair is 1/2 inch before waxing. These strips are great for contours on your body such as your bikini line, underarms, face, and touch-ups. Comes in different formulas to include sensitive skin, normal to dry, and bikini and face.
* Sally Hansen Express Wax Hair Remover for Face and Body- This line of body wax is made of natural ingredients that easily washes away in water. You'll experience smoothness for up to 8 weeks.

Just remember that when waxing at home, it's not uncommon to experience pain, irritation, redness, brusing, and broken skin.

Pubic Hair Styles

May 3rd 2009 18:49
It's not uncommon to meet a woman who shaves her lady area; in all reality it's pretty uncommon to meet a female who doesn't. But, if you are one of the women who shaves or waxes her female parts, you may want to consider a different style.

There are more than one hair styles that you can choose from when trying to design your female area. The one you choose will probably be the easiest that you can accomplish on your own. Unless you want to go to a professional, which many women do.

But, not only can you choose different styles, you can choose different colors. Just make sure that you do not use regular hair dye on your female area because it is a very sensitive area that can easily be irritated by the harsh chemicals in regular dyes. You want to purchase a dye that is specifically made for sensitive areas, such as the Betty Hair Down There dye.

The dye comes in a variety of colors, ranging from browns and natural colors for women who just want to hide grays, all the way to blue, green, hot pink, purple, and red.

By changing up your cut and maybe your color, you may find that you're spicing up your love life a little. If anything, you'll at least walk around a little cockier because you know what you've got going on under your panties. Ha.

Now, personally, I'm not too sure about all the different shapes and styles that you can have shaved or waxed into your lady area, but the Betty Hair Down There dye would be pretty cool to try out, but you'd have to have a little hair down there to dye in order to test it out.

Julie-Ann Amos has this interesting hub about the history of pubic hair styles, and she explains the different designs and what they should look like. If you're interested in comparing the french to the isosceles to the princess cut, you'll definitely want to check out Popular Pubic Hair Styles: History and How To Create Them.

Best Way to Wash Your Face

April 7th 2009 21:10
It is always a good thing to wash your face in the morning and at night so that you can get the dirty and excess oil off of your face so that it doesn't clog your pores. By keeping your face properly cleaned, you can help reduce acne and keep your face clean and clear. But, if you aren't washing your face properly, you can damage your skin and eyes.

Because your face speaks a lot about you and your personality, you want to have a properly kept face and skin care so that you can not only feel more attractive about yourself, but so that you can build confidence that you deserve.

When cleaning your face, you want to use a soap that suits your skin-type. Not all soaps will work for everyone, so you want to find a soap that will suit you, whether it be formulated for oily, normal, or dry skin.

You only want to wash your face twice a day, because more than that will potentially dry out and irritate your skin. If you notice that your face is getting too dry after washing, you can use just water and pat dry your skin, applying a moisturizer after. Just make sure that the moisturizer isn't oily.

For some people plain soap works well to clean their skin, but others may need an actual acne face wash such as Cetaphil, which comes in face wash and moisturizer.

It's a good idea to use warm water to wash your face, but cold water to rinse. The warm water will open your pores. If you experience any itching, drying, or irritation with your soap or face wash, you'll want to stop using it and find something else.

When washing your face, you will want to pin your hair away from your hairline, using a headband or hair clips. Take out your contacts or remove your glasses, if you wear them. You also want to make sure that your hands are clean before cleaning your face; you don't want to rub more dirt onto your skin.

Using warm water, wet your face to open your pores. Using your soap or face wash, rub about a nickel sized portion of the cleanser into your wet hands. After you've worked up a good lather, apply the cleanser to your face and gently rub in circular motions to remove the dirt, avoiding your eyes and mouth.

Rinse your face with cool water to close your pores, and then pat your face dry with a clean towel. Make sure to PAT and not rub. When your face is dried, it's a good idea to apply a moisturizer to your face.

How Often Should You Wash Your Hair?

March 29th 2009 12:38
So it turns out that we're washing out hair too much. Go figure that daily hair washing is bad for you, but hey it happens right... If you look at the statistics, Americans, alone, wash their hair about 4.59 times a week, which is twice the times as Italians and Spaniards.

This obsession with washing out hair started May 1908 when the New York Times published a column telling women it was ok to wash their hair every two weeks, considering that at that time it was the norm to only wash hair once a month. Well, a few decades later, shampoo marketing campaigns started telling people it was ok to now wash your hair daily

Why Should We Groom, If You Won't?

March 4th 2009 19:00
It's always amazed me that females are supposed to groom themselves and shave regularly, yet most men just won't. It's too much trouble. There's not enough time. Whatever the excuse is, there's always an excuse.

So, if all the women of the world quit shaving their legs, underarms, lady parts, etc. Stopped plucking their eyebrows and dying their hair. What would the men do? Seriously
