Makeup Tips

July 21st 2011 16:26

I've got a few clever makeup tips that you've probably never thought of before.

* Don't use oil slick to keep the shine to a minimum. You may want to try using a tiny dab of yoru deodorant under your eyes and your t-zone to reduce the shine and create a more matte appearance.

* You may want to use a different color eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger and brighter, as a basic black eyeliner can make your eyes look closed, receded, and darker.

* Use a sheer foundation and add a little aloe to it in order to create a smoother look.

* Make sure to style your brows to accent yoru eyes. You can use powder to define the eyebrow and to bring more attention to the center arch, which gives the appearance of a bigger eye.

* If you want a wet lash appearance, you can apply a little MAC brow set in clear to your eyelashes and then use a black mascara.

* In order to ensure that your lip color stays in place, use the MAC Brow Set in clear around the edges of your lips to prevent bleeding.

* If you want long Bambi-like eyelashes, you don't have to use mascara. You can use a little eyeliner, whether a dark brown or a black, to to the upper rim of you eye underneath the eyelashes. This will give a fuller, thicker appearance.

Hate Painting My Nails

December 27th 2010 01:55
I haven't painted my nails in such a long time, but I bought a few different colors today... I came home and painted my nails... I put a few coats on them, waited a minute, but they weren't quite dry. I sprayed them with pam to dry them, and they still messed up.

I think it's funny that spray pam dries nail polish like none other.

But, anyway.... After spending the time to paint my nails and dry them, I still messed them up.

In 23 years, I have never been able to properly paint and dry my nails without messing them up. In most cases, I tend to end up removing the polish and just giving up.

I am determined to master the skill of nail painting without screwing it up somehow.

If anyone has any simple tips for painting finger nails, please share.

Mary Kay Makeup

April 5th 2009 14:11
It can be really hard to find a good brand of makeup that you want to stick with, but once you've found that brand, you definitely want to stick with it. It's also a good idea that you do not mix brands of makeup because in some cases, your skin may become irritated if you use multiple brands for your foundation, cover up, and bush.

When choosing a brand of makeup, I've found that Mary Kay has a large selection to choose from, especially when it comes to foundation. No matter what your skin tone is, you will be able to find the perfect color match, and no matter what type of skin you have, you'll be able to find something that will suit you.

And, yea Mary Kay can be expensive, but you don't always have to pay an arm and a leg to get one bottle of liquid foundation. You can spend much less, if you find the best place to search for Mary Kay makeup. Ebay is a great place to find cheap Mary Kay makeup products, and you will be able to find anything that is on the Mary Kay line.

If you actually look at the Mary Kay foundation lines, you'll be pretty surprised at what you'll find. I have been very pleased with the liquid foundation that the makeup line offers, whereas my aunt loves the powder. You can check out the different types of foundation that Mary Kay offers, as well as purchase the foundation of your choice, here >Cheap Mary Kay Foundation. I would highly suggest it, as you can find yourself paying well into the double digits for one tube or compact of foundation.

Personally, I just purchased $25 worth of Mary Kay products online, where they are priced retail at over $40. Usually, you can find an even better deal that $15, but I'm in a hurry to get my products, so I didn't want to dig as deeply as I should.

Just remember that the main difference of purchasing online versus with an actual Mary Kay consultant, is that with the consultant, if you're not happy, you can get your full money back no matter how much of the product you've used. Online, the only deal you can really get is cheap prices.

Common Lipstick Mistakes

March 30th 2009 13:59
I found this great hub on HubPages.com that pretty much covers the basics on applying lipstick and what mistakes to avoid when doing so. Although, I'd much rather prefer lip gloss or chapstick, there are many females who prefer lipstick to give their lips the perfect color and shade to accent their lips, accessorize their outfit, or mix things up a bit.

Lips can really work wonders for a girls makeup and beauty, but if you do know know how to properly apply and avoid the most common mistakes, you are really doing more harm than good. Yea, people will still look at you and give you that second glance that you were hoping for, but it won't be for the same reasons.

Make sure that you follow Isabella's guidelines to avoid lipstick mistakes. If you can come up with a few extra mistakes, please feel free to add them below.

Top 5 Lipstick Mistakes by Isabella Snow

To shorten things a little, here are Isabella 5 mistakes, but you should definitely check out Isabella's hub for more details.

Just remember that it's not a bad thing to be a little too cautious when it comes to applying lipstick.

Tip 1: Check your skin color.
Tip 2: Check your lip line.
Tip 3: No fudging the lines.
Tip 4: No glitter if you're old enough to remember MTVs debut.
Tip 5: Be aware of what time of day it is.
