House for Sale in Sydney
May 14th 2008 22:43
Zaia Dawood, a real estate agent at Fairfield in Sydney's southwest, last week sold a two-bedroom unit - bought for $240,000 in 2006 - for just $140,000.
I get mad when I see good hard working people's dream go down the toilet and struggling to pay off a home is our biggest dream. And it makes me even madder when I know that all the smarties, the rich people around town think it's Christmas - they buy up good property for half the price, hang onto it for a few years and sell at the top of the market, making a very tidy profit.
It's the same with shares, people watch as their retirement dreams go down the toilet too as share prices fall, then the rich smarties come along, buy up cheap and make a killing later on.
I know this is considered good business but I hate it and I don't like the people who do it either, it's just not nice.
I'm rather glad I'm not rich enough to fall into the 'smarty' category when peple all around me are suffering.
