Best Way to Wash Your Face

April 7th 2009 21:10
It is always a good thing to wash your face in the morning and at night so that you can get the dirty and excess oil off of your face so that it doesn't clog your pores. By keeping your face properly cleaned, you can help reduce acne and keep your face clean and clear. But, if you aren't washing your face properly, you can damage your skin and eyes.

Because your face speaks a lot about you and your personality, you want to have a properly kept face and skin care so that you can not only feel more attractive about yourself, but so that you can build confidence that you deserve.

When cleaning your face, you want to use a soap that suits your skin-type. Not all soaps will work for everyone, so you want to find a soap that will suit you, whether it be formulated for oily, normal, or dry skin.

You only want to wash your face twice a day, because more than that will potentially dry out and irritate your skin. If you notice that your face is getting too dry after washing, you can use just water and pat dry your skin, applying a moisturizer after. Just make sure that the moisturizer isn't oily.

For some people plain soap works well to clean their skin, but others may need an actual acne face wash such as Cetaphil, which comes in face wash and moisturizer.

It's a good idea to use warm water to wash your face, but cold water to rinse. The warm water will open your pores. If you experience any itching, drying, or irritation with your soap or face wash, you'll want to stop using it and find something else.

When washing your face, you will want to pin your hair away from your hairline, using a headband or hair clips. Take out your contacts or remove your glasses, if you wear them. You also want to make sure that your hands are clean before cleaning your face; you don't want to rub more dirt onto your skin.

Using warm water, wet your face to open your pores. Using your soap or face wash, rub about a nickel sized portion of the cleanser into your wet hands. After you've worked up a good lather, apply the cleanser to your face and gently rub in circular motions to remove the dirt, avoiding your eyes and mouth.

Rinse your face with cool water to close your pores, and then pat your face dry with a clean towel. Make sure to PAT and not rub. When your face is dried, it's a good idea to apply a moisturizer to your face.
