Friday is the Official Date Night
February 27th 2009 14:09
I'm not sure if you've noticed it, but Friday really is the official date night for couples. I've always had my first date with a guy on a Friday, and I'm sure there are many of you who can say the same. What I've always wondered is why Friday is that night. Why can't Saturday be that night?
I mean, yea Friday is the last day of the work week and we all want to let loose and go have fun, but at least on Saturday you've had a day of rest.
You'll find that new couples typically go out on Friday nights after work and school, long established couples, and even married couples will find a babysitter for Friday night so that they can have their alone time.
It's really a nice thing to do, but that doesn't mean that you have go on a date on Friday night. You can easily stay home and relax or you can just go out with a group of friends and party! Friday does not have to be date night with you and a partner. It can easily just be a go out night or stay in night, and let Saturday be your date/go out night.
You do not have to follow societies ideals of date night, so to speak. You can go out party, go clubbing, see a movie, or just stay home and read a book, watch your favorite classic, or treat yourself to a night of at-home spa treatments.
But, if you are going on a date this Friday, keep things simple. Dinner and a movie is always great for the first few dates, but it's still always good to mix it up. Try miniature golf, pool, dancing, etc. If you spend a little time thinking about it, you can come up with something fun to do, but you don't want to be the only one brainstorming. Make sure that your date comes up with a few ideas.
