I've never been a fan of actually working with my hair and styling it appropriately. I've always liked just washing it, air-drying, and then throwing it up in a ponytail. Even when I actually got a hair cut that involved at least a little styling, I still ended up washing, air-drying, and throwing gel in it. I never paid much attention to using a curling iron or straight iron to flatten and curl my hair.

Well, with one too many days of crazy curls and up-turned hair, I finally pulled out the trusted Conair Instant Heat Iron/Straightener that I had, and I haven't turned back. I can't go a day without straightening those curls that just shouldn't be. I'll even admit to my hair looking quite silly before.

I have gone through a number of curling irons and straighteners, and the Conair Instant Heat is probably the best that I've ever used and the one with the longest life.

The Conair Instant Heat Curling Iron/Straighter is a 1-1/2" diameter barrel for perfect curls, but at the same time you can unlock the straightener to straighten your hair instead of curl it. There is a lock on the cooling end, so that you can lock the straightener in order to curl your hair, or unlock the straightener panel to straighten.

Basically, the barrel is split with 1/5" ceramic coated curling iron and a 1/5" ceramic straightening plate so that the product is more versatile to your different hair styles and moods. You no longer need two products- one to curl and one to straighten. You can just purchase the Conair Instant Heat Iron/Straightener.

The product has turbo heat boost that uniformly heats the entire barrel, so that your hair gets an even curl or an even straighten.

There are 25 heat settings that you can operate with the dial setting that has dual voltage.

There is an automatic off feature that shuts the product off after a certain period of usage, but you can also use the 'off' button to manually shut the product off. The red light blinks when the product is on, and the green button blinks for a second to notify you that you've shut it off.

The Conair Instant Heat Iron/Straightener has 6 feet of a tangle free power cord, so that you don't have to worry about untangling and fussing with the cord every morning.

This is probably one of the better curling irons that you can purchase, and it's not even that expensive, typically running under $20.
